Puddle science

Chalk round a puddle and come back later to see how it has changed. Measure it, jump in it, float things on it.

How it goes

  1. Find a good puddle and draw round its edge with chalk.
  2. Measure how deep it is with a stick and mark the water line.
  3. Test what floats and what sinks.
  4. Come back later in the session and draw round it again.
  5. Then jump in it. Which jump makes the biggest splash?
