Quiet mode

A calmer screen for anyone on your team.

Some people work best with less on the screen. Quiet mode gives them one plain typeface, no pictures or moving leaves, and a home screen that keeps to today's work. Each person turns it on for themselves, and nobody has to say why.

What changes

  • One typeface. The handwritten notes and the serif headings use the same plain type as everything else.
  • No pictures or motion. The drawn hills, the drifting leaves and the patterned backgrounds go.
  • Fewer boxes. Cards and tables lose their outlines and shadows, and lists become plain rows.
  • Today's work first. The home screen shows the session you're running and what needs doing, and leaves out the seasonal notes, the numbers and the profile prompts.
  • Words first on a voice note. What was said shows straight away, above the player.

What stays the same

Every button, label and menu keeps its name and its place. Red and amber still mean what they mean, and the NETA areas keep their colours. The help guides and our support work the same with Quiet mode on or off.

Whichever look someone uses, the app follows the text size set on their phone. The details are in our accessibility statement.

Each person's own switch

On the website it's under My profile, then Quiet mode. In the app it's under Me. It's off unless someone turns it on, it only changes their screens, and it follows them to whichever device they sign in on. On a shared iPad, the next person to sign in gets their own look.
