So who actually pays?
The forest school does: the provider running the sessions. Every practitioner has a
free account for their own profile and compliance. A sole-trader provider running
their own provision is a one-person organisation (a business in its own right), so they
hold the subscription themselves, at £8 a month (VAT included) on Solo.
What's the difference between Solo and Team?
Who does the recording. On Solo (£8 a month, VAT included) one leader records
everything; volunteers are on your register, counted in your ratios, and can
connect free with the app to see the sessions they're on, the plans and the risk
assessments — they just don't write anything. Team (£29 a month, flat, VAT
included) is where your whole team records under their own names — logins, roles
and permissions, plus the DSL safeguarding wall, staff compliance tracking and
commissioning-body access.
Is it really never per child?
Never. Children, sessions and sites are unlimited, so a busy group, an extra
pair of hands, or a new wood never costs you more. Price depends on one thing
only: whether you work on your own or you've a team.
Can my assistants and volunteers use it?
Yes — and volunteers never cost anything, on any plan. A volunteer can be on your
register record-only, or connect their own free account to see the sessions
they're on, the plans and the risk assessments to sign. What Team adds is
recording: assistants and leaders writing their own observations, photos
and notes under their own names. Everyone's account is free, and the same login
follows them to every forest school that adds them.
What if I run several woods?
Run as many as you like, on either plan. Add every site you work from, each with its own
emergency plan and site checks, at no extra cost — a cap on woods would only ever mean a
wood someone didn't declare. So if you're the only one recording, a second and a third
wood keep you on Solo at £8 a month; you move to Team when your team starts
recording, not when your provision spreads out. A trust or chain running several separate
organisations, each with its own team and safeguarding lead? Get in touch and we'll sort a
price that fits your scale.
Do I need a card to start?
No. You get 30 days free with no card. Add one only if you decide to stay, and
cancel before then with nothing to pay.
What about VAT?
The price on the page is the price: VAT is included, so nothing is added at
checkout. Your invoices and receipts come straight from our payment provider.
Does taking parent payments cost anything?
Only a flat 1% (VAT included), and only when we actually collect money for you
through the app — never revenue-based pricing. Free bookings and offline payments
never incur it, and you can pass the 1% on to parents if you'd rather.
What happens when my trial ends?
Pick a plan to carry on. If you don't, your account stays (we never delete your
records) and turns read-only until you choose a plan, so nothing is
ever lost.
