Free for practitioners
The Forest School App is free for the people doing the work. Only the forest school (whoever runs the sessions) needs a subscription, and one plan covers the whole team.
Every practitioner gets a free account to manage themselves: profile and compliance (DBS, first aid, qualifications), shared to every forest school you work for. They bring you into their sessions by adding you to the team, free for you, whichever plan they're on.
The forest school is the billing account: £8 a month if you work on your own, or £29 a month flat once you're managing a team. VAT is included either way, and so are unlimited children, sessions and woods, on both. Never priced per child.
Running your own sessions? You're a forest school in your own right, a one-person organisation, £8 a month (VAT included) after a free 30-day trial (no card). Take on staff later and you move to Team; the same login still works free at any forest school that invites you.

Pricing, plainly
The forest school does: whoever runs the sessions. Every practitioner has a free account for their own profile and compliance. A solo practitioner running their own sessions is a one-person organisation (a business in its own right), so they hold the subscription themselves, at £8 a month (VAT included) on Solo.
Who does the recording. On Solo (£8 a month, VAT included) one leader records everything; volunteers are on your register, counted in your ratios, and can connect free with the app to see the sessions they're on, the plans and the risk assessments. They just don't write anything. Team (£29 a month, flat, VAT included) is where your whole team records under their own names, logins, roles and permissions, with safeguarding kept to your DSL, compliance tracked per person and commissioning bodies on report-only.
Never. Children, sessions and sites are unlimited, so a busy group, an extra pair of hands, or a new wood never costs you more. Price depends on one thing only: whether you work on your own or you've a team.
Yes, and volunteers never cost anything, on any plan. A volunteer can be on your register record-only, or connect their own free account to see the sessions they're on, the plans and the risk assessments to sign. What Team adds is recording: assistants and leaders writing their own observations, photos and notes under their own names. Everyone's account is free, and the same login follows them to every forest school that adds them.
Run as many as you like, on either plan. Add every site you work from, each with its own emergency plan and site checks, at no extra cost. If you're the only one recording, a second and a third wood keep you on Solo at £8 a month; you move to Team when your team starts recording. A trust or chain running several separate organisations, each with its own team and safeguarding lead? Get in touch and we'll sort a price that fits your scale.

The price on the page is the price: VAT is included, so nothing is added at checkout. Your invoices and receipts come straight from our payment provider.
Your monthly price covers running your forest school: sessions, registers, risk assessments, records. If you take bookings and payments through the app, we charge 1% (VAT included) when we collect money for you. Free and offline payments never incur it, and you can pass it on to families. Stripe's card fee is separate and goes to Stripe.
