Stick weaving
Two sticks crossed and bound, then wool wound round them in a diamond. A calm activity that works for every age.
How it goes
- Each child finds two straight sticks of a similar length.
- Cross them and bind the centre with wool.
- Wind the wool round each stick in turn, going over and round, to build a diamond.
- Change colour whenever they like; tuck in leaves or feathers as they go.
- Tie off and hang them in a tree.
