Colour hunt with paint chips

Hand out paint sample cards and send everyone off to find a match in the woods. There are more colours out there than anyone expects.

How it goes

1. Give each child or pair two or three paint sample cards.
2. They search for something in the woods that matches each colour.
3. Bring the finds back, or photograph them where they are if they're living.
4. Lay out a colour line from lightest to darkest.
5. Repeat in another season and compare.
