Stick stars and cinnamon bundles

Christmas decorations that smell as good as they look: five-stick woven stars and cinnamon-stick bundles tied with garden twine — the take-home families actually keep.

How it goes

1. Sort five similar sticks per star; lay out the pentagram flat first.
2. Bind each crossing with wool — over-over-under, pull snug.
3. For bundles: three cinnamon sticks, a sprig of conifer (wind-fallen), twine bow.
4. Add a hanging loop; dry-run on a 'gallery branch' before they go home.
